Leontiev made from the edition of the XVII century with a preface by Emperor Kangxi. He translated: “The Great Learning” ( Da xue 大學 ) and “Zhong yong” ( 中庸 ), extracted from The Book of Rites (Li ji 禮記 ); 3) historical translation about the war with the Oirats 1 . It is worth adding that, according to the chronology, Leontiev translations are the earliest works in the collection. Thus, educational books from the collection of the Russian diplomat P.K. Rudanovsky are the works of teachers of the Faculty of Oriental Languages, as well as translations of members of the Russian Orthodox Mission in Beijing. The mentioned books were used in the study of the Chinese language, the history of China, as evidenced by the preserved dissertations of graduates of the faculty or information about the teaching methods of the Russian sinologist I.
