The man and his three wives — a Xu woman 徐氏 , Yu Zhen 余真 , Liu Ruoying 柳弱 英 and a servant Xiu Chun 秀春 are sitting at the laid table. 2. The upper part on the right: 二出董芥入柳氏房遇魁星现形将董芥喂抱在地 Second scene. Dong Jie has entered lady Liu’s room and bumped onto Kui Xing in flesh, who knocked Dong Jie off his feet. Dong Jie is shown falling down, the god of literacy Kui Xing 1 is above him, in a cloud, he is in a characteristic pose and with a brush in one hand; lady Liu is sitting at the desk in the room. 3. The central part on the right: 三出董芥回入余氏房将入柳氏房见怪之事对余氏说了一遍入余以为妖 怪招董芥用毒药将柳氏害了彼秀春忽？外听去. Third scene. Dong Jie told ladyYu that he had seen a demon in lady Liu’s room and lady Yu decided that the demon wanted to possess Dong Jie and wished Dong Jie poisoned lady Liu. [The servant] Xiu Chun heard all this from outside. Dong Jie is sitting in the centre of the room with his hands spread resentfully/ dazedly, Yu Zhen is pointing to the outside with a hand, she is holding a handkerchief. Xiu Chun is overhearing behind the wall. 4. The central part on the left: 四出秀春將言告於徐夫人遂喚徐明送柳氏與秀春往玉花庵？往. Fourth scene. Xiu Chun told lady Xiu what she had heared; they summoned Xu Ming and told him to hide Xu Chun and lady Liu in the hut of Jasper Flowers. Aman called Xu Ming is standing on a knee in front of lady Xu; the servant Xiu Chun has packed their belongings; Liu Ruoying is standing behind Xu Minginin a pleading pose. 5. The bottom part on the left: 五出徐氏留心搜出下毒藥之人問其瑞氏醜婆訴說分明. Fifth scene. The circumspect lady Xu found the person, who had put the poison; the ugly lady Rui told everything in detail. The ugly woman is kneeling and testifying, Yu Zhen hears this talk. 6. The bottom part on the right: 六出董芥不見柳氏秀春怒追？徐明徐明奔投於郭？元帥帳下濤功 Sixth scene. Having failed to find lady Liu and the servant Xiu Chun, Dong Jie in anger chased Xu Ming, who joined Marshall Guo’s banner. 1 Kui Xing 魁星 —one of associates of the god of literatureWen Chang 文昌 , personified the first star of the constellation Ursa Major.
