So these front side ornaments as a whole represent the integrity of hierarchical structure of the state, and emphasizes the importance of Turkish family unity as an instrument for this integrity, therefore the continuity of the state and life in general. On the back face of the pendant, we can see the tree of life made of granules, bird/eagle, deer, goat and wolf motifs. The back face being encircled with a concave framework describes both the cope of heaven (gök kubbe) and yurt (family tent). If this portrayal is interpreted as a cope of heaven , then it would exhibit the spiritual roof, protecting the state; if it is interpreted as a yurt , then it would represent the spiritual roof that protects the core family 1 . Because the back face is the hidden side and forms a concave shape that evokes cope of heaven / yurt , it reflects the spiritual dimension of the continuity of the state protocol . Tree of life motif defines the fact that earthly life blossoms under the cope of heaven beneath the protection of Gok- Tengri and by its blessing. On the other hand cognitive analysis of tree of life motif is the constitute of mind that can grasp all abstract concepts. The concept of loyalty, which is essential for the continuity of life and state, is symbolized with goat-deer motifs . Furthermore, wolf motif communicates the ability to put the abstract concepts into action by analyzing meaning. The eagle that is seen on top of the tree of life symbolizes the fact that the hero (khan or khatun), who abided all hardship of life and as a result of integrity attains superconscious (high cognitive skills), therefore, becomes the state’s all seeing eye and sword of justice. In conclusion, this object, itself in its entirety, is a symbol as a whole. On the front side, the number 10 and the four directions motifs , portrays the nation as a one big family under the roof of the state . On the back side, the ruling dynasty is described as the core family of the all nation. The khan is represented as an eagle ; the khatun is represented as the tree of life , daughters are represented as deer-goat motifs and sons are represented as wolves . The back side and the front side are created by two different plates and soldered back to back to symbolize support and mutual loyalty for each other. This unity is ornamented by pendulums that notions the sunlight (hun/gun/gün- hun/day ) which spectacles the attribute of having kut as well. In a sense, this object itself is the harbinger of kut that glorifies the Turkish State and the Turkish dynasty. More over, in perspective of the gender studies’, this valuable piece from the Khatun’s treasure exhibited in the State Hermitage Museum concretely proves that women were valued highly in the 5 th - and 6 th centuries by the Huns.
